Kevin Hart Steps Into The Life Of A Widowed Dad In The 'Fatherhood' Trailer

It is too early in the day for Kevin Hart to have everyone in their feels. Tugging at all heartstrings available to him, Hart plays the role of a single, Black Dad who has just lost his wife in Netflix's Fatherhood trailer. Throughout the teaser, Hart grapples with loss, setbacks and depression while working to give his kids the best life possible.

Despite losing his theatrical wife, Hart is not stepping into single, Black Fatherhood alone. Lil' Rel Howery, DeWanda Wise and Alfre Woodard appear alongside the comedic actor in this new film. Also, Anthony Carrigan and Paul Reiser make appearances throughout Netflix's latest effort. Rounding out the cast and crew, Michelle and Barack Obama's production team, Higher Ground, worked on the film.

Fatherhood is the latest Netflix project led by a Black lead. Just this past weekend, the streaming giant unleashed their lastest original film, Monster, Starring Jennifer Hudson, Jeffrey Wright, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Nas, A$AP Rocky and the beautifully talented Lovie Simone, the film explores the brutal nature of the criminal justice system. Aside from Monster and Fatherhood, Netflix has also rolled out Lakeith Stanfield's Yasuke, Jamie Foxx's Dad Stop Embarrassing Me and the Academy Award-winning film, Two Distant Strangers.

In the coming weeks, Master of None starring Lena Waithe, Awake starring Shamier Anderson and Army of the Dead starring Omari Hardwick are slated to debut on the streaming platform. Hart's latest outing as a leading man will appropriately land on Netflix on June 18 during Father's Day weekend. The trailer is now available for those looking to get ready for the June release.
