Hundreds of thousands of people in the U.S. and worldwide protested President Donald Trump's agenda in May Day demonstrations, per the Associated Press.

On Thursday (May 1), protestors lined the streets of New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and other major U.S. cities, calling out the administration's attack on labor protections, immigration rights, diversity initiatives, and more.

Chicago demonstrators, which included union workers, immigration rights advocates, pro-Palestinians, and students, rallied in a West Side park and marched through downtown, playing drums, dancing, and chanting "No justice, no peace!"

“We need to stand up and fight back,” Latrina Barnes, a 48-year-old certified nurse's assistant, said, noting her concerns about the future of Medicaid and Medicare.

Other protestors held up Trump puppets, inflatable Trump baby chickens, and Trump piñatas shaped like a bull.

Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders spoke outside Philadelphia’s City Hall during a rally before a crowd marched the streets.

"Workers over billionaires," signs read in Philadelphia.

In Los Angeles, thousands of demonstrators held signs with messages of “Immigrants make America great,” “Migration is beautiful” and “It’s not the time to be silent.” Atlanta protestors expressed outrage over expected cuts to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which is headquartered in the city.

“We really want to stand up for all of our fellow laborers who were laid off or just fired with no real reason,” Deblina Datta said. “We really want to make a cry that without the CDC, bad things will happen.”

Trump's agenda also fueled protests worldwide. French union leaders rose up against the "Trumpization" of world politics.

“If the North Americans don’t want our goods anymore, we can just sell them to others,” Far-left leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon said.

“The world has changed a bit with Trump’s arrival,” Ángel López, 56, a worker from Madrid, said. “The arrival of the far right to a country like the United States is a major global shift.”
